Storing Your Log Splitter

Prepareyourlog splitterfor storageat the endof the

seasonor ifthe log splitterwill not beusedfor 30 daysor

more.

_ WARNING:Neverstoremachine with

fuel inthe fuel tank insideof building

where fumes may reach an open flame

or spark,or where ignitionsources are

presentsuchas hotwater and space

heaters, furnaces, clothesdryers,

stoves, electricmotors, etc.

1. Cleanthe log splitterthoroughly.

NOTE:Wedo not recommendthe useof pressurewash-

ers or gardenhoseto cleanyourunit.Theymaycause

damageto bearingsorthe engine.The useof waterwill

resultinshortenedlifeand reduceserviceability.

4. Startthe engineandlet it rununtilthe fuel linesand

carburetorareempty.

5. Removesparkplug. Holdinga ragoverthecylinder

hole,pourapproximately1/2ounce (approximately

onetablespoon)of engineoil intocylinderandcrank

slowlyto distributetheoil.

6. Replacesparkplug.

7. Do not storegasolinefromoneseasonto another.

8. Replaceyour gasolinecan if it startsto rust.Rust

and/ordirt inthe gasolinewill causeproblems.

9. Storeunitina clean,dry area. Donot storenextto

corrosivematerials,suchas fertilizer.

NOTE:if storinginan unventilatedor metalstorage

shed,becertainto rustproofthe equipmentby coating

witha lighto11orsilicone.

2. Wipe unitwithanoiled ragto preventrust,especially

on thewedgeandthe beam.

3. Drainfuel tank.Alwaysdrainfuel intoapproved

containeroutdoors,awayfromopenflame.Besure

thatengineiscool beforedrainingthe fuel. Donot

smokewhilehandlingfuel.
